MIXING
Obtain a clear/clean space to prepare the BRIUMVI.
Be sure all the necessary supplies are available to complete infusion from beginning to end. You will need IV start kit, 10 ml syringes, needles, infusion pump and tubing and 250 ml NaCl bag.
Use ONLY 0.9% NaCl Injection, USP for dilution.
Solution should be clear to opalescent, colorless to slightly yellow.
Preparation of the First Infusion (150 mg):
Withdraw 6 ml of BRIUMVI solution from one vial (150 mg/6
Add the 6 ml of BRIUMVI solution into the infusion bag containing the 0.9% NaCl.
Preparation of the Second & Subsequent Infusions (450 mg):
Withdraw & Discard 18 l 0.9% NaCl from a 250 ml infusion bag
Withdraw 18 ml BRIUMVI solution from three vials (6 ml/vial, 150 mg/6 ml)
Add the 18 ml BRIUMVI solution into the infusion bag containing 0.9% NaCl
ADMINISTRATION
Take baseline vitals and document basic assessment.
Use an infusion pump and ensure infusion completed within the designated time.
Infusion Schedule:
Day 1 Infusion: 150 mg over 4 hours
Day 15 Infusion: 450 mg over 1 hour
Subsequent Infusions: 450 mg over 1 hour; every 24 weeks
Monitor patient for any adverse reactions.
Record vitals pre infusion, every 15 minutes and then hourly and post infusion.
Post Infusion Monitoring:
Day 1 & Day 15: Monitor for 1-hour post-infusion
After the 3rd Infusion: Monitoring at physician’s discretion unless infusion reactions occur.
Record lot numbers and expiration dates for vials used.
After monitoring period, disconnect patient, flush line, and remove IV. Place pressure bandage at site.
Clean and dispose of used supplies.
