MIXING
Obtain a clear/clean space to prepare the Glassia.
Be sure all the necessary supplies are available to complete the procedure from beginning to end.
You will need syringes, needles and alcohol to prepare medication.
Inspect vials for particulate material and discoloration prior to dilution. It should appear colorless to slightly yellow. Allow solution to warm to room temperature.
Select appropriate number of vials required to prepare the dose.
There is usually a +/-15% deviation allowed for dosing so the total volume should fall within 15% of the dose.
Draw up the Glassia from vial(s) to get the ordered dose.
Add Glassia to empty IV bag using a syringe and needle to inject the medication into the bag. Or Glassia may be administered directly from the vials using a vented spike.Â
