MIXING
Obtain a clear/clean space to prepare the OCREVUS ZUNOVO
Be sure all the necessary supplies are available to complete infusion from beginning to end
You will need: 21-gauge transfer needle to draw up solution from vial, 30-cc syringe, 24g to 26g butterfly/winged SC infusion set to administer the drug (priming volume NOT to exceed 0.8 mL for administration set), optional syringe pump in lieu of manual push
Remove the vial from refrigerated storage and allow the solution to acclimate to room temperature
Attach the transfer needle to the syringe
Withdraw the entire contents of OCREVUS ZUNOVO solution from the vial with a syringe and transfer needle (a 21-gauge needle is recommended for transfer)
Remove the transfer needle from the syringe and attach the 24-26-gauge winged/butterfly set
Use a SC infusion set with a priming volume NOT to exceed 0.8 mL for administration
Prime the SC infusion line with the OCREVUS ZUNOVO solution to eliminate air in the infusion line and STOP before the fluid reaches the needle
Ensure the syringe contains exactly 23 mL of OCREVUS ZUNOVO solution. Expel any excess volume from the syringe
Administer immediately to avoid needle clogging.
DO NOT store the prepared syringe that has been attached to the already-primed SC infusion set
ADMINISTRATION
Take baseline vitals and document basic assessment
Insert needle into the abdomen (recommended site) at a 45°– 90° angle
Avoid injecting within 2” of the navel
Do not inject into moles, scars, bruises, or areas where skin is tender, red, hard or broken
Administer 23 mL of OCREVUS ZUNOVO subcutaneously in abdomen over approximately 10 minutes
DO NOT administer the remaining priming volume in the SC infusion set to the patient
Monitor patient for any adverse reactions
Record vitals prior to infusion start, post infusion AND 5-10 minutes post infusion
Record lot number and expiration date for vial used.
When completed remove butterfly
Place pressure bandage at site
Monitor patient closely for at least 1 hour after initial injection and for at least 15 minutes after subsequent injections
Clean and dispose of used supplies
