MIXING
Obtain a clear/clean space to prepare the
Be sure all the necessary supplies are available to complete infusion from beginning to end. You will need:
Medication vial, syringe (5ml or 10 ml depending on dose), transfer needle, needle to inject or may use a butterfly, alcohol, bandage.
Allow OPDIVO QVANTIG to reach room temp
Draw up appropriate dose of medication into syringe
ADMINISTRATION
Take baseline vitals and document basic assessment
Administer the full contents of the syringe into the subcutaneous tissue of abdomen or thigh over a period of 3-5 minutes.
Do not inject into areas where the skin is tender, red, or bruised, or areas where there are scars or moles.
If the administration of OPDIVO QVANTIG is interrupted, continue administering at the same site, or at an alternate site
Monitor patient for any adverse reactions
Record vital signs at baseline AND 5-10 minutes post infusion
Record lot numbers and expiration dates for vials used
