MIXING
Obtain a clear/clean space to prepare the RESSAYO
Be sure all the necessary supplies are available to complete infusion from beginning to end.Â
You will need sterile water to reconstitute, IV start supplies, alcohol, syringe and needle
Use Sterile Water for Injection, to reconstitute.
Each vial contains 200 mg and requires 9.5 ml for reconstitution.
Swirl gently and do not shake to avoid foaming.
Solution should be clear to pale yellow when reconstituted.
Withdraw the appropriate volume of diluent from a 250 ml bag of 0.9% Sodim Chloride injection, 0.45 % Sodium Chloride Injections, or 5% Dextrose Injection.
For 400 mg dose remove 20 ml form 250 ml bag
For 200 mg dose remove 10 ml from 250 ml bag
Withdraw the reconstituted volume from the required number of vials and add to the bag of fluids.
Swirl bag gently
ADMINISTRATION
Take baseline vitals and document basic assessment.
Infuse over 1 hour.
Record vitals every 15 minutes for the first hour, then hourly AND 5-10 minutes post infusion.
Record lot numbers and expiration dates for vials used.
Disconnect patient, flush line, and remove IV.
Place pressure bandage at site.Â
Clean and dispose of used supplies.
