MIXING
NOTE: STEQEYMA is dosed and administered like Stelara
Obtain a clear/clean space to prepare the STEQEYMA
STEQEYMA is dosed and administered like Stelara
Be sure all the necessary supplies are available to complete infusion from beginning to end. You will need: alcohol wipes, STEQEYMA Prefilled Syringe; gauze or band aid
Remove the needle cap when ready to inject STEQEYMA by holding the body of the prefilled syringe in one hand between the thumb and index fingers
Do not hold the plunger while removing the cap. Do not use the prefilled syringe if it has been dropped without the needle cover in place
ADMINISTRATION
Take baseline vitals and document basic assessment
Inject STEQEYMA subcutaneously
Inject all of the liquid by using thumb to push the plunger all the way down. If the plunger is not fully pressed, the needle guard will not extend to cover the needle when it is removed.
After the prefilled syringe is empty, slowly lift your thumb from the plunger rod until the needle is completely covered by the needle guard
Monitor patient for any adverse reactions
Record vitals 5-10 minutes post infusion
Record lot numbers and expiration dates for STEQEYMA Prefilled Syringe
Place gauze or bandage at site
Clean and dispose of used supplies
