MIXING
Obtain a clear/clean space to prepare the TREMFYA.
Be sure all the necessary supplies are available to complete infusion from beginning to end
You will need IV start supplies, alcohol, syringe, needle, IV tubing with an in-line, sterile, non-pyrogenic, low protein binding filter (pore size 0.2 micrometer); 250 ml bag of NS
Withdraw and discard 20 mL of the 0.9% Sodium Chloride Injection from the 250 mL infusion bag which is equal to the volume of TREMFYA to be added
Withdraw 20 mL of TREMFYA from the vial and add to the intravenous infusion bag of 0.9% Sodium Chloride Injection for a final concentration of 0.8 mg/mL
Gently mix diluted solution
ADMINISTRATION
Take baseline vitals and document basic assessment
Infuse over at least 1 hour using tubing with an in-line sterile, non-pyrogenic, low protein binding filter (pore size 0.2 micrometer)
Monitor patient for any adverse reactions
Record vitals every 15 minutes for the first hour, then hourly AND 5-10 minutes post infusion.
Record lot numbers and expiration dates for vials used
Disconnect patient, flush line, and remove IV
Place pressure bandage at site.
Clean and dispose of used supplies
