MIXING
Obtain a clear/clean space to prepare the
Be sure all the necessary supplies are available to complete infusion from beginning to end. You will need: medication, IV start supplies, 250 ml 0.9% Sodium Chloride Injection, USP bag, tubing with micronfilter, syringes, needles, alcohol, gauze pads, bandage and sharps container
Prepare medication
Withdraw and discard 26 ml of solution for each vial of YESINTEK needed from the 250 ml 0.9% Sodium Chloride Injection, USP bag
Withdraw 26 ml of YESINTEK from each vial needed and add to the NS bag; the final volume in the infusion bag should be 250 ml
Gently mix
ADMINISTRATION
Take baseline vitals and document basic assessment
Infuse YESINTEK over a period of at least 1 hour or per orders
Monitor patient for any adverse reactions
Record vitals every 15 minutes after infusion start, AND 5-10 minutes post infusion
Record lot numbers and expiration dates for vials used
Disconnect patient, flush line, and remove IV
Place pressure bandage at site
Clean and dispose of used supplies
